Do I need to apply for a Firearm Certificate (FAC) when I join?

No you do not need a FAC to shoot as a member of the club. You only require one if you decide you wish to acquire your own rifle and you will need to have been a club member and regular attendee for at least 6 months before the police will consider your application.
